Midwest Heart Connection was founded by Sue Petersen and Tracy Adams, both residents of Nebraska and mothers of children with congenital heart disease (CHD). They found each other on the internet and were a great support to each other during years following their children’s CHD diagnosis. Knowing their own needs and desire to communicate with other parents of CHD children, they created a group which would provide that support for all interested parents.

Midwest Heart Connection has grown to a membership of over 500 and has served many families and children affected by CHD. Our primary goals are to provide information, resources, and support to parents and families of children with CHD, whether that support is in person, over the phone, or via the internet. We want to facilitate a connection to other parents of children with CHD. And we want to provide a source for learning about their child’s defect(s). We provide information over this web site, group gatherings (picnics, dinners), and care packets/informational brochures for the families of children undergoing heart surgery at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  We also provide funds and equipment to the medical professionals caring for our children.

If you’d like to become a member of Midwest Heart Connection or are willing to help another parent by sharing your own experiences, please contact us or become a member for free right here on our web site. We look forward to hearing from you!
